About NativeNurseryFinder.com
A free native plant finder and regional nursery directory for gardeners, restoration volunteers, and anyone trying to put the right plants in the right places.
What We Do
NativeNurseryFinder.com helps you find plants that are actually native to your state and USDA hardiness zone — not just "garden center" plants with "native" on the tag. Our plant finder covers 300+ species of native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, ferns, grasses, sedges, and vines, filterable by state, USDA zone, and category. Our nursery directory lists verified regional nurseries that specialize in straight species native plants, curated from state native plant societies and public nursery lists.
Beyond the tools, we publish practical guides on native gardening: regional planting guides, "plant this, not that" alternatives to invasive ornamentals, shade gardens, rain gardens, pollinator habitat design, and how to read a USDA hardiness zone map.
Why Native Plants
Native plants evolved alongside the insects, birds, and soil microbes of their home range. They support far more wildlife than ornamental exotics, require less water and fertilizer once established, and help restore the ecological function of a yard. The research of Doug Tallamy and others has shown that what you plant in your yard materially affects local bird and pollinator populations. Our goal is to remove the biggest barrier to native gardening: figuring out which specific plants are actually native to your specific place, and where to buy them.
Who Operates This Site
Operator: Liquid Amber Partners LLC (a Wyoming limited liability company)

Liquid Amber Partners LLC is an independent operator of a small portfolio of consumer tool sites. We are not affiliated with any nursery, plant-breeding program, or manufacturer, and we don't accept payment for nursery listings or editorial placements. Nurseries are added to the directory because they meet our criteria for selling genuinely native species — not because they paid to be there.
Editorial Approach
Every article and plant entry on this site is written to help real gardeners make real decisions. We cross-check species range and hardiness data against the USDA PLANTS Database, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and state extension services. We flag species with narrow native ranges so people don't plant something that's "native to the U.S." but not native to their ecoregion. We update guides when hardiness zones or nursery listings change.
Articles may link to products on Amazon and other retailers through affiliate programs (see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use). Affiliate revenue helps keep the plant finder and nursery directory free for everyone. Product recommendations are selected on the basis of topical relevance (books on native gardening, mason-bee houses, basic hand tools) — not the size of the commission.
How the Site Is Funded
NativeNurseryFinder.com is funded through two sources: (1) display advertising served by Google AdSense, and (2) affiliate commissions from Amazon Associates and similar programs. We do not sell your personal information, and nurseries cannot pay to be listed or promoted. See our Privacy Policy for detail on advertising cookies and opt-out options.
